WINTERFEST - A Celbration of ALL things WINTER!

09

This fun Family Council event is free and all are welcome.

WINTERFEST is typically the last weekend in February.  Dress warmly as many of the activities are held outside. Depending on the weather, there will be ice bowling, ice skating, sledding and the famous cardboard classic sled race!  When you need to warm up head inside to enjoy a bowl of chili, a cup of hot chocolate, something from the bake sale, a round at the cake walk, or have your face painted.  There is also a free raffle. This event is not possible without parent volunteers.

The annual Woodland Winterfest communal chili pot is always a hit! Each family is asked to bring in a pot of their own chili, either vegetarian or meat.  These are combined into two pots for all to enjoy.  It may sound different, but this has resulted in some of the most amazing chili.

Each year, one Village handles the cake walk.  This activity is a favorite for many!  Show off your baking skills or simply pick up a cake at the local grocery store. Parents are also needed to run the cake walk.

Each year one Village handles the bake sale.  Please remember to bring your sweets individually wrapped and consider staffing the bake sale table for a 30 minute shift.

The Upper Village has prepared the sledding hill for us to enjoy.  6-8 students will also be hosting the face painting table.

Each person that attends Winterfest receives a free raffle ticket.  These tickets can then be placed in a drawing for specific items.  All raffle items are donated.  Please donate a new or gently used item for the raffle.  Items such as books, toys, sports equipment, a dozen farm fresh eggs, or even a gift certificate for a local service or item are greatly appreciated.
